The Information and Network Technology School (IN-Tech) opened its doors for the first time in September of 2000 with incoming 6th grade classes. IN-Tech’s rigorous academic program is designed to develop self-reliant and responsible college-bound students. Clear expectations and high standards are in place for all students for whom critical thinking and problem solving skills will be a focus, in keeping with New York City and State Standards.

As it’s name implies, IN-Tech is a pioneer school dedicated to accessing all the latest technological advances to support student learning. The school's staff, in partnership with Manhattan College, has developed an academic program tailored to better prepare students for the future challenges of college and careers through integration of intellectual and technical endeavors.

IN-Tech staff provides an inquiry-based curriculum which promotes understanding across the disciplines and emphasizes depth over breadth. Teachers act as facilitators by providing students with an atmosphere in which they are encouraged to think for themselves, pose questions, investigate hypotheses and pursue solutions. Studentsl become writers, scientists, researchers, explorers and artists as they consider open-ended questions that stretch cognitive abilities and honor individual learning styles.

At IN-Tech students and staff pursue the integration of intellectual and technical endeavors. Staff are committed to immersing students in a learning environment that will engage their interest in all content areas including literacy, math, the sciences, social studies and the arts. The school’s advanced technology facilitates innovative services for students with special needs.

 IN-Tech provides technology instruction for staff and students in other District Ten schools and for the community at large. The school staff is committed to developing a model site within which state-of-the-art technological advances are routinely applied to enhance teaching and learning in a school setting.
